BloodHound Trade Statistics Indicator

$399.00

1. Overview

The Bloodhound Trade statistics indicator takes your BloodHound signals to the next level. Let's face it.. we all love BloodHound since it allows us to try out new ideas quickly and easily. However, until now there was no easy way to find out if the signals you created with bloodhound were actually profitable. Sure you could use Raven or Blackbird to backtest in the strategy analyzer, but that's a bit cumbersome and slow.

What if... you would get real-time trade statistics while you are editing your BloodHound signals?

That is now possible with our Bloodhound Trade Statistics Indicator. Simply add it to your chart, together with bloodhound and that's it.

Immediately you get real-time trading statistics for your BloodHound signals, without doing any time-consuming backtests. And what's even better is that it updates in real-time with every little change you make to your BloodHound template.

Get instant feedback on how a little BloodHound template change affects your final strategy performance

Of course, you can tweak the stop loss / take profit targets, trailing stop, and position sizing to your liking

2. Real-time trade statistics from BloodHound

Simply add the indicator to your chart, open BloodHound and that's it! You immediately get trade statistics for all your BloodHound signals. You even get real-time updates while making changes to your BloodHound template.

3.2 Bloodhound Entry Logic

Select your bloodhound template entry logic to use

3.3 Bloodhound Exit Logic

3.5 Long/Short confidence thresholds

Here you can specify the Bloodhound confidence thresholds. The indicator will only open trades for BloodHound signals which have a signal level above these thresholds.

3. Trade settings

Bloodhound statistics trade settings

3.1 Initial capital

This setting specifies the initial capital or account balance which will be used to calculate all the trading statistics. This initial capital is used when you set your Position sizing to risk a fixed amount of $ / trade or a percentage of the trading capital per trade to calculate the number of contracts for each trade.

Note that this is SIM money and not real money. The indicator will never open any real live trades. It will only simulate historical orders and provide statistics for those.

3.2 Commissions

The commissions' settings allow you to specify the commissions you normally need to pay / trade. When filled in the trade statistics will use this in all the statistics to give you more accurate results.

3.3 Max open trades

Here you can specify the maximum number of open trades at any given time. For example, let's suppose that trade is currently running and that the maximum open trades is set to 1. If then another bloodhound signal would then occur, with this trade still running, then this 2nd BloodHound signal will be ignored since there is already 1 trade open, and the max. is set to 1 as well. If the max. was set to 2 then another trade would be opened.

3.4 Exit on opposing entry

If this setting is then the indicator will close any long trades when a BloodHound short signal occurs and vice versa

4. Position Sizing settings for Scalp/Runner

Position sizing

Under position sizing, you define how much you want to risk per trade for both your scalp and your runner. If you don't want to use a runner then you can just change its setting to trade 0 fixed contracts.

There are a couple of options:

4.1 Fixed contracts / trade

With fixed contracts/trade the indicator will always open a trade using a fixed number of contracts. For example, if you set this value to 3 then every trade will be opened with 3 contracts. And if you set it to 1 then every trade will be opened with 1 contract.

4.2 Fixed Amount/trade

If you want to risk a certain amount of dollars/trade then you can select this option.  For example, let's say you want to risk a maximum of $150 / trade. In that case, you select Fixed amount/trade and enter 150 here. The indicator will then calculate the number of contracts it can trade for each trade based on the size of the stop loss. This means that for every trade your maximum risk will always be $150 and the number of contracts will depend on the size of the stop-loss.

If the stop loss is too big to trade even 1 contract then the trade will be skipped since the indicator cannot open a trade with the maximum risk you defined here

4.3 Percentage % trade

If you want to risk a certain percentage of your trading capital/trade then you can select this option.  For example, let's say you want to risk a maximum of 2% / trade. In that case, you select Percentage/trade and enter 2 here. The indicator will then calculate maximum risk in $ for each trade based on the size of the stop loss, the percentage, and the account size. When it has calculated the max. amount of $ to risk on the trade it calculates how many contracts it can use for this trade.

This means that for every trade your maximum risk will always be 2% of your account and the number of contracts will depend on the size of the stop-loss.

If the stop loss is too big to trade even 1 contract then the trade will be skipped since the indicator cannot open a trade with the maximum risk you defined here

4.4 Max contracts

You might want to limit the max. of contracts the indicator can trade. Especially when you have selected a Fixed amount/trade of percentage/trade. In those cases, the indicator will calculate the number of contracts it can trade for each trade.  Now if the stop loss is very small it could end up with too many contracts

With this setting, you can set the max. the number of contracts/trade the indicator should use.

5. Stop loss settings

Stoploss settings

The indicator allows you to define your own stop loss.

You can define your stop loss in

  • Previous candle low/high
  • Ticks
  • Points,
  • Amount ($)
  • ATR

When selecting ATR you can also specify the ATR period and ATR multiplier to use.

6. Break even settings for Scalp / Runner

break even settings

Here you can specify if and when the stop loss should be moved to breakeven for both your scalp and runner.

You can specify your break-even point in

  • Ticks
  • Points,
  • Amount ($)
  • ATR\
  • Risk / Reward

When selecting ATR you can also specify the ATR period and ATR multiplier to use.

You can also specify an offset (in ticks) for the break-even. For example, let's say you set your break-even to the settings above. In that case, the stop-loss will be moved to break even when your trade is in 1.5 ATR profit

Now if you set the Offset(ticks) to 1, then the stop-loss will be moved to breakeven + 1 tick when your trade is in 1.5 ATR profit

7. Take profit settings for Scalp/Runner

take profit settings

Here you can specify when to take profit for both the scalp & runner

You can specify your take profit in

  • Ticks
  • Points,
  • Amount ($)
  • ATR
  • Risk / Reward

When selecting ATR you can also specify the ATR period and ATR multiplier to use.

Note that if you don't want a fixed target, for example, because you are using a trailing stop and want your trades to be closed only when the trailing stop is hit, then you can just set your take profit to None. In that case, your trade will be closed when it hits the trailing stop ( or stop loss)

8. Trailing stop settings for Scalp/Runner

Trailing stop

You can enable a trailing stop for both your scalp and/or your runner

Todo so you first define WHICH trailing stop you want to use. You can choose between

  • None
  • Parabolic SAR
  • ATR
  • Chandelier Stop
  • Or the previous bar hi / low which is often used when trading Renko bars

Next, you define WHEN your trailing stop should be triggered/started. Here you have 2 options:

  • ATR
  • When trade is at breakeven (+ some offset)

With the first (ATR) option, you can tell the indicator that the stop loss should get trailed by the trailing stop when the trade is in profit by a specific ATR period & multiplier you specify. For example. This allows you to start trailing your stop when your trade is in 1.5 ATR profit

The other option is to start trailing your stop when your trade is at breakeven + some ticks. This for example allows you to start trailing your stops when your trade is 16 ticks in profit.

9. Daily loss/profit filter

Daily profit/loss filter

The daily profit/loss filter will enable you to stop trading for the day when your daily profit target and/or your daily loss limit has been reached.  Use this if you want to set limits on how much you can lose or win per day

10. Weekday filter

Week day filter

The weekday filter allows you to restrict trading to particular days of the week. When abled the indicator will only trade the days you have selected checked and won't take any trades on the other days.

11. Trading statistics

Ninjatrader manual backtester statistics

The indicator will plot a statistics panel on the chart which gets updated in real-time when you add/delete/modify your trades. The statistics panel shows all the important trading metrics to give you a clear insight into how well the strategy you are backtesting performs.

Trade settings

Initial capital
This setting specifies the initial capital or account balance which will be used to calculate all the trading statistics. This initial capital is used when you set your Position sizing to risk a fixed amount of $ / trade or a percentage of the trading capital per trade to calculate the number of contracts for each trade.

Note that this is SIM money and not real money. The indicator will never open any real live trades. It will only simulate historical orders and provide statistics for those.

Commissions
The commissions' settings allow you to specify the commissions you normally need to pay / trade. When filled in the trade statistics will use this in all the statistics to give you more accurate results.

Max open trades
Here you can specify the maximum number of open trades at any given time. For example, let's suppose that trade is currently running and that the maximum open trades is set to 1. If then another bloodhound signal would then occur, with this trade still running, then this 2nd BloodHound signal will be ignored since there is already 1 trade open, and the max. is set to 1 as well. Position Sizing settings for Scalp/Runner

Under position sizing, you define how much you want to risk per trade for both your scalp and your runner. If you don't want to use a runner then you can just change its setting to trade 0 fixed contracts.

There are a couple of options:

Fixed contracts / trade
With fixed contracts/trade the indicator will always open a trade using a fixed number of contracts. For example, if you set this value to 3 then every trade will be opened with 3 contracts. And if you set it to 1 then every trade will be opened with 1 contract.

Fixed Amount/trade
If you want to risk a certain amount of dollars/trade then you can select this option. For example, let's say you want to risk a maximum of $150 / trade. In that case, you select Fixed amount/trade and enter 150 here. The indicator will then calculate the number of contracts it can trade for each trade based on the size of the stop loss. This means that for every trade your maximum risk will always be $150 and the number of contracts will depend on the size of the stop-loss.
If the stop loss is too big to trade even 1 contract then the trade will be skipped since the indicator cannot open a trade with the maximum risk you defined here.

Percentage % trade
If you want to risk a certain percentage of your trading capital/trade then you can select this option. For example, let's say you want to risk a maximum of 2% / trade. In that case, you select Percentage/trade and enter 2 here. The indicator will then calculate maximum risk in $ for each trade based on the size of the stop loss, the percentage, and the account size. When it has calculated the max. amount of $ to risk on the trade it calculates how many contracts it can use for this trade. This means that for every trade your maximum risk will always be 2% of your account and the number of contracts will depend on the size of the stop-loss.
If the stop loss is too big to trade even 1 contract then the trade will be skipped since the indicator cannot open a trade with the maximum risk you defined here.

Max contracts
You might want to limit the max. of contracts the indicator can trade. Especially when you have selected a Fixed amount/trade of percentage/trade. In those cases, the indicator will calculate the number of contracts it can trade for each trade. Now if the stop loss is very small it could end up with too many contracts.
With this setting, you can set the max. the number of contracts/trade the indicator should use.
